The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) has partnered with the Mendez Water District (MWD) in Cavite to support a project that will improve the district’s water supply system. The signing of the funding agreement was conducted on August 11, 2025, at the LWUA office, led by Administrator Jose Moises F. Salonga and MWD General Manager Marietta P. Salazar.

One of the primary objectives of this proposed initiative is to expand MWD’s water distribution system by developing and adding new sources. This will consequently increase the community’s access to reliable water services and ultimately generate more opportunities for the socio-economic development of the district’s service areas.

Deputy Administrator for Financial Service Maria Rosan D. Perez, and MWD Board of Trustees Chairperson Lorena P. Viado were also present to assist in the facilitation of the contract signing.

LWUA continues to strengthen its collaboration with local water districts by extending technical, financial, and institutional support to meet the growing water demands of the country. (LWUA Facebook post, August 14, 2025)
